A really terrific pair of shoes, and I'm really fussy. I'm really fussy, and these are still a really terrific pair of shoes. They fit better than any other dress shoes I have owned, and the craftsmanship is quite amazing to see up close. (I can't even bring myself to wear them outside.) The only reason I didn't give them a perfect rating is because of the patina of the leather. Although outstanding, the leather is not quite rich enough to be perfect. (I am referring to the Chili Burnished Calf.) Again, I am being REALLY fussy, but I like to see a finish in leather that brings out the imperfections and natural beauty; an attribute that Allen-Edmonds may very well spend a great deal of time trying to eradicate.
